Team from Hastings serves in NC

It’s hard to believe the devastation that remains over eight months after hurricane Helene battered western North Carolina.  Seventeen volunteers from Hastings Baptist Church traveled to Fairview, NC from June 22-28 to provide hurricane relief through hard work and encouragement.  They ministered to two local churches and community contacts as they cut up trees, hauled brush, rebuilt a deck, re-sealed a mobile home roof, and did some work at the church camp where they stayed.  The only promise made to the group before they left for NC was that there would be blood, sweat, and tears; they accomplished all three in less than two hours on the first day of work. Pastor Matt Moser said, “It was the most cohesive, self-sacrificing, and hard-working mission team I have served with in over thirty years of ministry.”
