Book Study: Revitalize

We would like to invite you to join together with other pastors across the Bridge Fellowship for a monthly book study on the topic of church revitalization.  Our book will be Andrew Davis’ Revitalize: Biblical Keys to Helping Your Church Come Alive Again.

Here is a description from the bookstore website:

Church health is measured by more than just numbers, but declining membership is often a key symptom of a church in crisis. Drawing on lessons he’s learned in his own journey of leading church transformation, pastor Andrew Davis offers strategic, proven, and biblically grounded advice on how to move forward with hope and expectation. He shows pastors the importance of

  • keeping Christ’s ownership of the church central
  • maintaining a humble attitude
  • choosing your battles wisely
  • empowering godly men to join in leadership
  • making prayer a priority
  • focusing on the Word
  • and much more

Revitalize gives pastors the spiritual support they long for and the practical advice they need to turn their churches around and position them for greater health in the future.

The plan is to meet online (links will be provided) so pastors from all over the state can join in.  And in order to accommodate our ever-changing schedules, there will be two different meeting options.  Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday afternoon and the fourth Thursday morning.  For the month of March (our first meeting) you could choose either Tuesday the 14th at 1:30 PM or Thursday the 23rd at 9 AM.

For our first meeting, we will plan to introduce ourselves, get to know everyone, make sure we all have the right book, and confirm what our goals are for the next month.  We will plan to read one chapter each month and be ready for discussion with answers to four basic questions:

  1. What was the theme of the chapter?
  2. What did I learn (Or, what was I encouraged to remember)?
  3. How can I apply this to my ministry?
  4. How can we apply this in our church?

Our study will be led by our Director of Church Health, Andy Molyneux from First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.  Several other pastors from around the state who are members of the Church Health team are also planning to participate.  We would love to have you join us!
